How to remove a red wine stain?

I have a red wine stain on a white hoodie which I can't clear, I've tried vanish but no luck. Its been washed a few times now so is it to late for the white wine trick? (does that even work?)

Any suggestions?|||The white wine trick only works, as you suspected, when it is fresh.

A salt paste works when it is fresh as well.

Use softscrub and a toothbrush on the area -- that usually does the trick for me. Son's sippy cups are used after that (smile)

|||Here's a good tip from an article at the Scott Common Sense Community:

The longer a spill is left untreated, the greater the chances of it setting so follow these steps as quickly as possible: First, remove excess wetness by blotting the stain with dry Scott庐 Towels. Scrubbing can damage the carpet pile and push the stain even deeper into your carpet. Next, mix 1/2 teaspoon of dishwashing soap or fine fabric detergent with one cup of warm water. Apply a small amount at a time, blotting with a paper towel, and repeat until the stain is removed. Don't give up - this might take a while! Once the stain is gone, rinse the area with cold water and blot dry with paper towels to remove residue from the cleaning solution.|||Well now that it isn't fresh anymore that makes it harder to remove. Since it's a white hoodie don't you think you could use bleach? What is the hoodie made out of?

Let me try to find you something on the net that may help you.

Frustrating I know I've ruined some of my clothes this way too.|||Try acetone on it, have some water handy to nullify the acetone, should work.

Spirit Vinegar is very good for this type of stain as well.|||white wine only works immediately after spillage of red wine

i guess you are are screwed|||Try soda...like Gingerale! Good Luck and God Bless.|||belive it or not but it,s white wine|||dont know if its helps but brasso got it out of my cream carpet
