My husband and I would like to start drinking a glass of red wine each day for the health benefits that red wine is supposed to provide. However, we haven't like the taste of any of the red wines we have tried. We aren't really alcohol drinkers, but can stand the taste of white wine. What would be a good red wine for us to drink that will taste good and still give us the health benefits?|||whites and reds are really kind of a blur. Where you drinking a chardonnay or a pinoit grigio? If you drink a more sweet wine like chardonnay then you need to do a merlot because typically they are both sweet. If you where drinking a pinoit grigio then the closest you might get would be a cabernet sauvignon which is typically the driest of the red's. The bad news here is not all cab. sauv. is dry, and not all merlot's are very sweet.
The best answer to this question is to go do a wine testing event. It's a fun time, you might find something new, and you get to network... Bonus|||Hi,
I love wine, and have a wine cellar at home even! However, for you I can recommend Vinho Verde, a type of portuguese wine that is very fresh and light, not like the other heavy red wines. The alcohol levels are also a bit less.
Mostly people go for the white, but the red varieties are also good.
Enjoy!

Red wine has been shown to provide some benefits to heart health, but I highly doubt that it would be recommended in the same way as taking vitamins. If you enjoy wine with dinner, great. If not, there are plenty of other ways to keep the heart healthy.|||Carmenere is very easy for people with a palate for fruit-forward wines. Also might try any Old Vine Zinfandel, they tend to be a little peppery, but complex enough most people find something they like in it. Merlot is subtle enough not to offend most palates. My absolute favorite red is Steuben, but I live in Texas and it's easier to find up north, like Illinios...|||You should try port, which is a fortified red wine. It has a very sweet (and strong) taste.
Although not "sweet" you could also try a Beaujolais or Temparanillo, which are not as tannic as most red wines. (Tannins are what gives wine its bittterness).
Enjoy.|||The arbor Mist blackberry merlot is very sweet and not strong tasting at all. I believe Wild Vines has one also. Actually white wine has health benefits as well, so f that's what you guys like, then stick to white.|||Try a red wine cooler; they are milder than the real thing but contain enough red wine to give you the health benefit you seek.|||try a sweet red wine and mix with 7 up? theres tons of sweet reds.or try a blush.
